My Eaton LSD was less than one year and dead to the point it wasn't rebuildable, kevlar clutches down to bare metal and one of the axle pinions almost welded to the case. I do seriously race it hard at the track every Friday turning Hoosier drag slicks and am pushing right at 600 RWHP.

Dont have the cash to replace it right now so I stripped the LSD down to the pinions making it an open diff and then welded it solid, making it more or less a spool to get me by for a while. I'll only run it at the track with it setup like that.

That Detroit E-Z locker is a design that replaces the side & spider gears in an open differential with a mechanical locking device. It will not work if you have a G-80 diff.

It is designed primarily for off-road use. When it locks, you feel it. When it unlocks, you feel it. Your vehicle noticibly changes directions as this happens. But they work very well off-road(in the dirt/mud).

There is a good reason that all you ever hear about here is the Eaton LSD or the True-Trac. They operate seamlessly, reliably, quietly, and they are proven to be strong. The Auburn **cheaper** cone style posi diff is also weak and is questionable past 350 hp.
