I would say 408, single turbo, and a built 4l80e...and all the parts that go to make that....Or is that $15,000 in the engine alone?

408 plus a single turbo and a built 4l80e... a 88mm or bigger would be nice.

What about a 40x with a TVS 2300? Or twins.

For a DD, you really need to look at the suspension if you want to really be able to use it on the street.

15k total build?... or what is your total budget for engine tranny and power adder fuel system and all? and what are his goals, some people have a different opinion of what "fast" means....lol.. either need hp, or quarter mile time goals to get a good idea.

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

Keep it simple, buy a GM crate 454LSX and built TH400. That will eat up your 15k but you'll have a strong dependable setup with a 3 year warranty. You'll be rocking about 600 dependable HP and problems will be few.
