    98 chevy 4.3 to 5.3 help

    hey im new to this sight and have herd great things from other members o how helpfull som members can be. I got a 98 chevy singlecab truck that has a 4.3 vortec and 4l60e trans. my question is how hard would it be to swap the 6cyl for a 5.3 vortec?? ive herd that you can use the stock radiator and some other stuff but i need to know mor details before i do a swap to my truck.

    Check out the stickied OBS to LS1 conversion and that will give you a general idea. You'll need the engine and all accessories, wiring harness and tuned PCM to remove VATS. If using the old transmission, you'll need a flywheel spacer, flat flexplate with longer bolts. For motor mounts I'd go with the new design from Hooker Header company. Any radiator could be made to work. Electric fans are always a plus. Headers for the conversion are available from site sponsor Schoenfeld.
