    cam install help

alright guys the ls1 cam i got should be here anyday... im looking for advice on how to go about doing this the right way. is there a write up on how to install a cam? how do i do this without pulling the motor? details would be very very helpful. as well as which gaskets to replace and how to adjust the rocker arms.... i want it right and on the money so its a one time deal. i dont have a tune. will the different cam mess the computer up or will it be bearable for a little while until i can get a tune? also are there any other mods that are on the cheaper side that will bring my 1/4 times down?

Greg helps everyone. He'll be there in two days...LOL.

When I helped Rob Saturday he used an F-car write up for criticals (before I got there) and TQ specs (I choose not to memorize) and it seemed pretty comprehensive. Probably the same article.

Not me, I use the LS1HowTo as a guideline for newbies, its very well written IMO.

i like the wooden dowel rods....sounds like a good idea. cant wait to get this cam and have it running by the afternoon! ill keep ya'll posted on how it reacts to a simple $10 cam. heard it wakes up the 5.3 a bit so hopefully it wakes up my 4.8 a little more wonder what sort of times i can get out of it????

Nothing is required to hold the lifters up in almost all cases.

wouldnt they just fall when the cam is taken out? or hold the cam up when trying to yank it out?
