Engine Light On

ok so i have had this check engine light coming on and off for a while now. its the bank one and bank two are running lean. this was befor the hpt and it comes on after the hpt. any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, they're probably going to be 171 & 174, but even then, there is a plethora of possible causes.

Just take the dash apart, pull the cluster out and take the light out for the CEL. Then it will go away.

ok sorry guys. it is a p0171 and p0174. thats the only codes now.i first had a code p0101 and i thought it was from the k&n oil but after looking around in the engine compartnent i found that the air inlet temp sensor was not hooked up to the intake tube. i installed the sensor about 6 inches back from the maf." this is what i was told from a gm tech" then it started to come on as this. this help at all?

There are hundreds of possible causes for 171/174. We would have to know every single thing about your truck, plus all the mods you've done, to narrow the possibilities down to the 12-15 range. Have you looked at farmtruc's post in the DTC topic?

most common concern is the intake gaskets leaking vacuum when cold - this is common in the colder months due to the plastic expanding - condition normally exists only when engine is cold - should notice a slight rough idle in the morning when engine cold
