    Unhappy I wanna cry!! LOL

With the mods my truck has -4.10's and truetrac my truck ran 15.8, last night I ran w/4.10's and truetrac and only went 15.6. Also my speed dropped 3mph w/4.10's going from 3.23. It was 15-20 degrees warmer last night than it was last week. Here is a picture of my intake setup http://www.ls1truck.com/upload/files...trip%20016.JPG . last night after the race I felt my filter and it was hot, could this have allowed me to not gain what I should have(.5-.8tenths instead of .2)I can get a CAI from latemodelrestoration.com for $100 shipped should I invest?
Thanx in advance for all replies!

    gears are usually 2-3 tenths

your air intake isnt helping you one bit. your better off with factory box

warmer temps slow down vehicles, DA factor, elevation and etc play huge roles in racing

also if computer wasnt programed for the gear change then that also can play a small role in your situation
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

Agree the intake setup is ghetto, but the times still sound about right for the mods you have.

i never had mine retuned for the gears, what kind of difference are we lookin at? wondering if that why my truck likes to lug the gears around town.

Thats not a bad time for what you have done. The problem is all the 17 second ricers run around saying they pull 12's or 13's that have never been to the track. So when you actually run at the track you think your time is slow. Get a stall and cam to compliment the gears and you will be happy, for a while, like Jeff said above.

I was very close on the estimate. Once you get a stall, headers, and a cam, youll feel a real difference. These things need the supporting mods to make all of them work better. a cam and a stall, you should break into the 13's at like 95-98mph. 15.6 is good for a 4.8. 5.3's with the same mods have ran 15.7's.

Maybe the rear end is locking up because there is no pinion shim.
