there are so many places that will ship you an engine. Any Gen3 engine will swap right into the suburban, just remove all the accessories from the original engine and put them on the new one. All he needs is the long block and he can swap all other parts over. The only reason to flash the computer is to update it for a 6L engine. Be sure that if he gets a 6L that it is a 2002 or newer.
Look on the internet for LKQ or Greenleaf auto salvage
