So I'm coming home from helping Virgil...I'm passing the exit/entrance right before my exit and see a newer Vette pulling onto the highway. Don't know my years of Vettes...'07 or '08 maybe? Anyway he's just kind of cruising...so I don't pay a lot of attention. I'm coming up next to a Titan with dual exhaust and he revs at me. I rev back. He trounces on it for a couple of seconds. I replied with the same and let the turbo do the talking. Seemed to do the trick - he stopped revving. Look in my rearview and here comes the Vette. He's a ways back but coming fast. I pass up my exit in hopes of a run. Comes alongside me but back just a little ways so I can't see the driver. I go WOT for a few seconds to let him know I'm game. Here he comes right alongside me this time and gives me a nod. I start to brake-spool and I think he thought I was going because he took off and got a huge jump. Tried to play catch-up but he got too much of a jump. He slowed down, rolled down the window and said 'let's try it again'. I said 'three honks', he nods yes. I brake-spool it honk three times, and off we go. We're even for a second or so and then he slowly starts pulling out ahead. He put maybe two or three lengths on me and it almost felt like we were evening out. But then we had to let off because we were coming up on traffic. He points to the right and we take the next exit and get out and chat for a few. I told him Louis does my tuning (thinking that he might have heard of them since LG specializes in the Vettes) and he laughs and says Louis built his Vette...heads, cam, and I forget what else. Anyway, cool guy. He might be going to the test and tune at Ennis next Saturday, so it would be cool to run him again, win or lose.
I don't know much about the Vettes, but he did say he dyno'd at 478rwhp, so I was pretty happy with the run. I think if I was at 12 or 14 PSI I could have hung with him or maybe beat him. But regardless, cool dude, and a good addition to the day. Oh yeah, he said he heard the turbo when he was way behind me...said he couldn't believe how loud it was.
