    ported throttle body

Does anyone know where you can get ported throttle bodies at. Who does them? Is it possible to do it yourself or just as simple to have it done? What do they usually cost?

    Thanks

The guy I would use is Mark Shaner. He sells them on LS1Tech I believe.

anyone ever see any documentation that porting a tb makes any more h.p? i hear to many complants of idle quality for any minute gain to be had. i did a bbk 80 on my truck and it didnt make a damn bit of difference other that it would try and stall every now and then. when i took it for a retune, allen told me it was common. so after no diff and stalling it came back off after a thousand miles.........

I put on my 80mm bbk and nelson was able to adjust the idle and its been running good ever since. I doubt you would see changing from the BBK to a p&p stock tb. just my .02

I hae heard good and bad about ported stock TBs...but the reviews depend on the quality of job done. My 80mm BBK installed easily--and since mine is cable driven, I just adjusted the throttle screw and it idles fine. I noticed a pretty big improvement in power, but then again--I installed it at the same time I did the efans. After the install, I went out for a quick spin and spun em from a dig through second gear...but before the efans and BBK, I could only spin them almost through first...
