Any and all of the GenIII truck starters will work.

The trans is a non-electronic 4l60, so I need a starter to bolt to the block and not to the bell. I was thinking that I had read somewhere that it would use an early 4.3 starter, but I did not know if it would have the correct number of teeth.
The truck starter does not bolt to the bellhousing...it bolts to the block.

So the bolt holes on the truck starter are in line and not offset? I thought all of the truck starters were offset. I was looking at a high torque that has dual holes for both flywheel sizes. I will take a look at a truck starter.

The bolt holes are inline, but the bolt sizes are different--one is longer than the other. And yes, as stated above, the starter bolts to the block--not the bellhousing. Could you imagine the mangled mess if the starter was bolted to the bellhousing? It would rip it to shreds...
