puttin in a z06 ls6 cam in a 99 4.8L do the valve springs have to replaced. if they do. are they a factory replacement? or do have to pull the heads to have them machined?

yes, they're cheap enough, about $60 for a full set from sdparts.com . No need to pull the heads, you can swap the springs in the vehicle with the correct tools.

I have a question about this cam also. what push rods do i need for a 2002 zo6 cam?
Step 1. crus at it.
Step 2. get a hammer.
Step 3. torch it.
7.4 pushrods for the ls1... and if you get a ls6 cam they should be a little longer.
most people just run the stock 7.400 length pushrods.

No machining required for the LS6 yellow springs. I just pressurized the cylinders on my 5.3 and changed them like that. I wouldn't trust any stock LS1 pushrods with this cam because I heard they have a tendency to bend at higher RPM/spring rates. Some chrome moly stock length rods will do fine. Make sure to get your ECU reflashed for the cam and for the tranny to shift at higher a RPM
Now sence the cam has a .050 smaller base circle would it be more benificial to use 7.450 lenght push rods?

its only .025" smaller on each side
