    danggit

    Well I thought mys tarter crapped the bed today. Bought a new one put it on, still wouldn't start. Checked the inspection plate on the bell housing (like I should have done originally) and the flywheel and torque converter spin easy as you please.

    So, I'll be getting a flywheel from Billy and getting it on in the next day or so.

    Sucks.

    shattered the flywheel center? OMFG!

    Maybe you need a billet unit. They're about $200.

    jk...the stock ones are pretty thin, so I guess it just had enough.

    I guess the center, yeah...Billy explained it to me, but I'm not picturing it in my head i guess. But yeah. He has a stock one, not sure if I can afford to wait on a billet. He said it's a fairly uncommon problem.

    Its not the power that did it in, it was just a faulty part or was damaged on installation. Stock flexplates have seen over 1000rwhp with no problems.

    FYI
    Flywheel=manual trans
    Flexplate=auto trans

    Yeah - didn't figure it was the hp that broke it.

    Thanks for the correction too. Thought they were the same thing!

    Hmmm, yeah, the reasons why it shattered or broke is a mystery--since when we installed it, the tranny was already bolted up to the motor. I would love to blame the idiot who dropped the motor in (hehehe), but can we point fingers at the guy you bought it from???? If you need help slapping a new one in, let me know Moze. I have to return some tools to a tool (Virgil), so keep me informed on when you wanna do this. From putting it on the jackstands to taking it off the jackstands, you are looking at roughly 3 hours time...
