Searching for a factory HP freak

What do you guys think, if you're getting ready to throw down some serious money on a new truck, what do you think the chances are a dealership will allow you to take all the trucks you like on their lot for a spin with a GTech accelerometer to find the fastest one?

The real question is if they want to sell one. If they don't they would not let you.

Only problem Ive found with a Gtech is if there is any wheel spin their accuracy goes down the tubes quick. If you can roll into it very uniform then you may have a chance of actually comparing apples to apples. I figure they would be more likely to do it if you sign some papers saying you are going to buy one of the trucks. I seriously doubt you will find a big difference in all their trucks.

Even if you did that, it would be hard to find "that one" that is the factory freak. New motors can run strong intially and not get nay faster when some may start out sluggish and then turn into a freak... The new motors are hard tell if they are gunna be quicker than other because of the fact that they are BRAND NEW. I have known some older LT1 motors that just happened to be factory freaks...but not so much with the LS motors. One of my friends had a 96 T/A LT1/6MT that could take his dad's 96 Supra TT. His car had only a K&N CAI and a Flowmaster--it would outrun the Supra by 2 car lengths...

No, but for real, this guy is one of my good friends and he lived right around the corner from me. His dad had the 96 Supra TT with the Targa, chrome wheels, enormous spoiler, 6-speed, Greddy parts here and there... And his oldest son had a 96 T/A LT1/6MT with a CAI and Flow... Father and son would race all of the time--and I rode in both cars when they would run--and suprisingly, the T/A would OWN the Supra--from a dig or on the hgihway. It was a true factory freak unless the older son had some owrk done on the side that he didn't tell anyone about...
