can I notch frame for my ac on my 95gmc with 6.0L

Hey, I'm trying to figure out if anyone has notched there frame to mount lower ac on mid 90's chevy with a 6.0. I'm hearing lots of different things. If you have, I'd like to know where and maybe some measurements. I'd like to use my ac bracket and install a senden 508.
    thanks greg

I believe NITROUS posted pics of his frame notch job. There are no measurements, its trial and error test fitting until you get it right. You want to use a 508 AND notch the frame? When notching the frame you can use the factory A/C setup. I know S&P makes a kit to put a 508 down low next to the block. You just have lower the engine in and see what you have to cut out.

Heartbeat, what did you do on yours, do you have air? S&P tells me I can't use the 6.0 truck unit. Its an all season and won't work with my, I'm assuming controls.

I'm running their High Right a/c bracket and Sanden compresser. No hacking of the frame required.

Heatbeat, did you use the street and performance set up? That looks nice, if not where did you purchase the ac and brackets.

I was just looking at your headers, looks like they fit pretty good. I bought a set of shorty edelbrock for 99 suburaban/tahoe with 6.0. Should work at ok if I figured everything right. That body style is still the same as ours. I have also bought a 551 lift cam with 221-224 duration @114. I'm hoping for 405 hp and about 420 torque.
If you have anyother suggestions, since you went thru this with the same truck, I'd appreciate the info.

Yeah, thats the S&P kit with a 508 compresser. 2nd truck I've done that on, very nice quality work. Just be sure you tighten their pulleys when you install them, they just hand tighten them at assembly time. I lost a pulley on my 2nd set. They sent me a new set to replace the one lost, for free, but I was inconvenienced when there was no belt driving the water pump when the pulley unscrewed itself and fell off on the highway.

Read the LSx to OBS conversion topic, I included as much information as I could remember off the top of my head.

I built the headers from a set of big block chevy headers for the 88-98 trucks. Took about 30 hours of work. NITROUS has a topic where he's getting ready to market some very nice custom headers for the OBS conversions.
