    4L80-E + PCM Question

Does the PCM need the speedometer signal to run a 4L80-E properly?

you can get away with running just one of the connectors, the rear one I believe it was. You can also buy a Transgo manual valve body kit and not run the transmission electronically at all, other than a signal to lock the torque convertor. Nelson Performance built me a 60e to 80e transmission adapter for a very low price plus they reprogrammed my PCM to work with it. I have a 2002 Fbody PCM running my 80e and the Fbodies never had that as an option before.
