see if you can get some 241 heads instead of the '98 heads. They flow better and should only be $200 or so. You will need valve covers and coil brackets too though. Truck looks great.

If you are going through the block, then it will be fine for what you are doing.
For extreme applications, there are better, but yours will do fine.
Oh, with a good cam, tune, and exhaust, you can easily reach high 300's to the wheels.
Are you wanting a smooth idle, lope, or really aggressive?

i dont own the 98 ls1 yet, but close.. thats why i ask about finding a newer one. as for idle, a little lope is good. from my research so far i need to figure out an a/c setup, and headers yet. harness will be a nelson custom. i am limited with headers with the body drop, everything gets tighter. the body is coming down 2.5" so even l31 longtubes wont work (i know ls1 and l31s are different). Are those stock manifolds that bad? they look way better than any stock l31 manifold..
with that body style you are limited on headers as it is
i have a 98 im dropn a 6.0 in and the only headers known to fit are shortys. we have a member who is making a set of long tubes but with your drop i dont think they would fit. as far as a/c you need a relocating kit and Sanden 508 compressor. gl fitting that in your small motor bay with the drop i dont know if u can get it to fit
welcome to the site.. did you get money from the wreck? i consider that totaled because the paint job

I imagine that once you have lowered the body onto the new design frame you will have to create some custom headers for your setup. That frame looks cool. Since you are designing your own frame you could think about modifying the section near the engine to use production headers from another make such as a Corvette. The location of the down tubes would be closer to the center of the head.
