    4l80e question

    What all is needed to switch from a 60 to an 80? and how hard is it?

    Go to Speed Engineering - Specializing in LS1, LS2 and LT1 Performance Parts and check out the kit to do the conversion. It will slow you down but if you're adding a power adder that will compensate for the additional rotation of mass, go for it. Take a 500HP engine and add another 300 HP of NOS on it then you may need the 80e. Your truck looks awful light for needing a 80e. I did mine for the afforementioned reason, plus my 60e broke.

    my 2nd gear in my 60e went out and my buddy has an 01 2500 that he will give me all the parts I need if it will work. Do
    all of the 2500 hd with the 6.0 have the 80e in them?

    Sounds like a solenoid to me or something is stuck....maybe a valve
