    Something is wrong.
    I can't find "vortec' either.

Did find vortex [ close enough for me ] in the dictionary. Diff. #6= a rapid rotatory movement of cosmic matter about a center, regarded as accounting for the origin of systems of bodies in space.

Sounds like a 6.0 to me.
    Hope that helps.

It's just called an "engine cover". There are a few sites that sell them. Some have carbon fiber ones but they're like $300. Just Google "Vortec engine cover". This site has some listed for a 5.3 but only shows the 6.0:

JP Customs - Chevy, GMC, Cadillac & Hummer Accessories. - Vortec Engine Cover

You can also get a 3 piece engine cover like the Caddy motors have...You can get several types of the main cover that goes on top of the intake manifold--Vortec, VortecMAX, Vortec 6.0, one with the Cadillac insignia, etc. You should go with the VMax one---its pretty damn cool!
