    Question state inspection

Now in Austin Texas we have the new state inspection where they plug your truck into a computer to look for DTC and all that mess. Well since i am swapping motors and computers how do i get it inspected? wont the vin number come up different.

ducky or anyone around here know what to do?

They've been doing that around Dallas for the last 10 years or so. If you have an OBDII equipped vehicle you are only allowed two or three diagnostic codes to pop up on their computer. If you have an OBDI vehicle they put you on a rolling road dyno and put a sniffer in the tailpipe to check emisssions. OBDI is normally vehicles built before 1996. It won't matter that you've swapped an OBDII engine into an OBDI vehicle, you'll still get the rolling road dyno test on the pre-1996 vehicle.

once you get it tuned, or at least the computer fixed, it shouldnt throw any codes. regardless that you have another motor it shouldnt be a problem. I guess as long as you comply with the emission standards..

You can have 2 "not passing" or not ready items here. 3 strikes and your out.

My truck still isn't inspected from April!!
