    Q about tinting headlights

I know most of you guys who tint taillights spray it, but is it possible to use window tint to tint the headlights? I figure it wouldnt work because they probably get too hot. It would probably limit the light output as well, but I would like opinions because I would like to try this if possible to see what it looks like before I decide to spray them. I think just a light grey tint would match my truck, and just make the front end all blacked out. thanks guys.

the tint has been done before by someone here.. i can't remember his screen name though. he lives in the dfw, tx area.

there's also someone on the silverado ss forums, who also lives in dfw who had them painted. his name is pimpss on there.

JUst smoke them with the same paint as your truck. That would look good.

dont use those unless you never plan on taking them off. a friend of mine had them on his Z and when he got busted in calif if peeled of the vinyl and it ruined the headlight and he had to buy new ones .it left them all foggy from the glue.

if you lightly scuff the headlights with scotchbright-lightly, and mix a little bit of black with clearcoat and spray it, it will come out PERFECT, as long as you are decent at painting. it should not come off. and if you are worried about the light output, just buy brighter bulbs..silverstars? that what i use with light covers. or get fog lights.

Red Scothbright works great when smoking headlights. Be sure and spray a plastic adhesive promoter if you plan on going this route. Because if you dont the first rock chip you get will make them start peeling.
