Talking Help me build my OBS 6.0L Swap on a $4500 budget!!

Well im about a month or so away from getting a 6.0L. I just sold my 383/700r4 and now im working on taking the front clip off the truck and painting the firewall, fenders, wheel wells, core support, and maybe paint the frame.

So when all said in done I will have 4500 bucks to spend on the swap. I already have a 4L80 no E with no converter. So most of the money will go straight to the engine and wiring.

I know nothing about tuning Fuel Injection and cammin one so help me out alittle.

    I want at least 400-500hpF(Flywheel Hp/torque)with at least 500 ft torque N/A!
So I want all ur suggestions and help me build a N/A beast!! Oh its not a DD so I want to go all out.

I do plan on getting the Nelson harness, and using Allen to dyno and tune it!
I plan on getting the LQ4 version and going from there.

I heard u can go with LS6 heads, so that might be cool. Also plan to go with a fuel cell so I can have my exhaust staight on each side.
I due plan on running some sort of header with no cats, 2.5 inch pipe into Magnaflow bullet mufflers, dumped before rear axle. Using a diesel front bumper make a CAI.

So help me out with the rest.....
    Thanks,

Only thing Im having a problem with is the headers for an OBS swap

I will post a link later to the pics of the progress so far

sounds like fun man! if you have the money to spend, i would definatly go with a good set of heads and a big cam. there are some good deals on the patriot heads if i am not mistaken, cant remember the website though, but it was on this board somewhere if you want to dig around. i think they were around $1300 or so, ported. go with the FAST intake also.

you say it is not a daily driver, so i you could even go with a cam in the 230-240 dur and 590-600 lift range. i am pretty sure you have to flycut pistons on ls1's around 615-620 lift, not sure on the truck motors.

put you a big stall in it, 3600+, and with the those 4.56's it should be a beast at the track. will probably have some money left over for some spray too...

    Around 475hp/over 500torque

It was fun to drive but could not get it inspected because of the carb.

im doing the same thing you are but mine is a 98 an its a v6 to the 6.0

basically get a motor, make sure it has the cable throttle make sure it bolts up to your trany. get the computer with it, an make sure ur exhaust can handle it.

for the motor, get headers. an a nice size cam with rollers an all that good stuff you get when u swap cams. mabye get some new spark plugs an wires if the motor has a lot of miles on it. shouldn't be to bad.

Cant decide if I want to go FI or N/A now. I think I want to put it in stock and get it running and the bugs worked out. Then have a plan on what to do with it.
    Im so excited!!!

if you are like me, and new to the ls motors and FI in general, the carb would be alot easier and quicker to get running.

but, if you have experience with FI, or just the time and willpower to learn it, then do the FI.

you may even go and buy the tuning software, HPTuners, EFI Live, etc.., and figure it all out, which is what i wish i could do.
