Response from Craigslist - does this sound fishy...?

...or is it just a language thing? I already told him cash only if he's picking up in person. This is the email the guy sent me about the converter...just sounds kind of strange:

    Dear Seller,
I am Andrew i saw your advert posted for sale and i will like to buy it cos i have been looking for it for quite a long time, please are you the real owner?and i hope is not a stolen good?so get back to me with the prices excluding shipping cos i will be taking care of it.Finally my mode of my payment is via certified cashier check/money oder so if this suite you i will like you to get back to me.You can contact me for further details.
    Regard
    Andrew Bruce

    scam!

i don't know why i even bother with that site. the only two times i have used it the guys were both dead beat liars. first one was for a truck cowl hood. he wanted it for 200. said it was in perfect condition no dents dings. i call he said that on the phone as well an said come on by an pick it up or we can meet half way, an if i go the full way he takes 20 bux off. so im like ok an go all the way there to pick it up and what is it. its all smashed in from where he didn't lube the hinges so it buckled and dented in the top parts. he said oh sorry i for got to mention that ill take the price down to 150 and u can have it ill fix it up. ill have it done in 3 days. so 1 week later its finally done and he rasided the price up to 300 i said no then he said 220 so i said ok. i take it to my shop an the guy said ti was 50 % bondo he wont even touch it, its a piece of trash. the next one i got lucky this guy was like im parting out a 98 gmc tahoo really cheap only has 50k miles. ill let u have everything u want for like 500 bux. then he never emails me again and 3 weeks later he says oh sorry i went on vaction. i never emailed him back its probably a scam too

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Good rule of thumb to live by, unless of course I have something up for sale!

I have bought a few things off of Craig's list. They were always fine but the people were weird. I always feel a little uncomfortable driving up to someone's house with a good chunk of cash in my pocket and the sound of dooling banjos in the back of my mind!

Yeah I already emailed the dude back and said I would take cash only. If he wants it, he can come to my work with cash and I'll direct him around to the fenced in area and grab some of the goon criminals from the shop and meet him out there. Control the odds...

just tell him that it's going to take one month for the check to clear, if he doesn't mind, i'm sure it's ok. for that price, cash should be the only option.

meet him at jim's or something, lol.
