Well I tore down the locked up pump today. It is re-buildable, but this one was almost to far gone to re-build. The pump has no seals on the top or bottom. This pump looks like it was submersed in water. It was so rusted I had to soak the housing for a while. The bearing on the bottom was locked, this is why the pump went out. I wonder why STS went with this pump? There is another pump I am looking at that flows the same, but is sealed.

I think this is what I may go with later. Anyway, I hope this one will last longer. I may make a splash guard for it. Has anyone done this?
