Anybody? Have a line on a 3600 Vigilante but I'm thinking that's a bit big, so thinking about having it restalled depending on price....

Run the 3600, PIs are tight to begin with, it will probably end up in the 3300 range with your setup, depending on what it came out of.

$300. They provide one free restall. It will be stamped in the body of the convertor if it's been restalled. They stamp a serial number on the convertor and stamp over the last digit if it's been restalled.

BTW, my Vig 3600 is loose as a goose. It won't hardly pull until about 2500 rpm. It may have been setup that way for an all out drag car, which mine sounds like every time I get into it.

I can get it for $375 + shipping. It was purchased as a 3200 and sent back to P.I. 2 years ago and restalled to a 3600. It has 8-10k miles on it since the restall and was in a 98 Camaro SS. If I can just get it and put it in, I'm going to do it. If I have to dump a bunch of money into it, then I won't be.

    Any more thoughts?

Any questions I should ask that I'm not thinking of...?

If it came out of a car then its probably a single disk, if so stay away from it, their single clutch setup isnt the best for our heavy ass trucks. If its a triple disk then go for it. Those are the ones that are tighter(from what I have read and the one I rode in) and should net close to the feel you are looking for. Again, a 3600 stall speed converter wouldnt be bad for you, it would be the perfect converter for your setup IMO.

If it's an fbody, its a single. That's what I run, a single. It locks up fine but you won't be blowing nitrous through shifts with a single while locked. I know, no juice for the truck right now but in the future you'll be wanting it just to feel the boost.
