f'n neighbor's kid!

So I come out to go to work this morning, and I look down at the door on my tahoe and about three inches to the left and an inch up from the door handle is a dent. Not a door ding, it's too high up on the door. Not a rock hit, because there isn't a scratch leading up to it or away from it. Also, it's perfectly round, and impact on the paint is chipped, down to the metal, in a perfect circle....the size of a BB. Well, as soon as I notice it looks a hell of a lot like a BB hit, I think back to this weekend. My neighbor bought his shithead 12 year old a BB gun and was out showing him how to shoot it on sunday. So, now I'm stuck. What do you guys think I should do from here? His dad is a alcoholic douchebag. I'm afraid if I go over there and say something he might want to fight or something. I'm not afraid of beating the shit out of the guy, I just want this to go smoothly. So, do I chalk it up to having white trash neighbors and see if my dent guy can get it out and put some touchup paint on it.....or do I press the issue and see where I get with the neighbor. When I get home from work today I'm going to look around the yard and look closely at the fence and see if I can find BB's or other BB marks around the house. What would you guys do if you were me?

If he's a piss ant like you say he'll probably just deny it, then the burden of proof is on you if you try to do anything legally. So I'm guessing you're stuck. Try to approach him politely, pose your problem and see what he says. If he turns into a jerk about it, that opens up all kinds of other options...

if things get out of hand just shoot take him down and do a little ground and pound, than maybe submit him with a rear naked choke and let him #@&#036;&#036; him self.

Sorry to hear about your truck. That would piss me off&#33;&#33;&#33; But me personally now at 44 i would just blow it off. you know the guy itsn&#39;t going to pay up anyways and its not worth going to jail over it if you do get in a fight with the guy..plus then the little piss ant will jacking with your shit.

if you talk to himlogically he might fess up to it, if he becomes an ass then you might as well just put some kind of barrier between you and him to stop the bb&#39;s from flying your way......

chances are if you say he is a dick like he is, then good luck........

F dude--that sucks&#33; In this situation, I&#39;d want to go talk with him...be cool about it---just bring up the fact that you know that his son got a BB gun and you heard it being shot...and somehow your truck got damaged. It may have been an errant shot--but still, it was from him... Just bring it up --- don&#39;t accuse him, just see how he reacts. If he admits something or says he&#39;ll help you take care of it, then cool. If not, just let it be--at least you informed him about it. Realistically, you won&#39;t get anything out of him except for the fact that he knows that his kid hit your truck and that you are aware of it. A BB dent should be about &#036;50 to fix. Let us know what happens...I&#39;d really like to hear that he was wasted when you went to talk with him about it--and then you had to administer a PWT beat-down...

You can delegate some yardwork to the child to repay you for the cost of the repair. Put him behind the working end of a lawnmower for a couple of weekends.

man, im sorry to hear that. I would just be cool and take care of it myself. It might cost a little but unless you plan on moving, I would try not to piss off the neighbors. I would talk to the kid though and tell him not not to shoot your way.

Well, I went over and talked to the guy about it last night. VERY suprised at how the situation went. Apparently the kid already shot the window out of their truck also, so the dad was already really pissed at his son. He didn&#39;t argue, or even look at my tahoe. He just said, "no problem man, just let me know what I owe you to get it fixed and it&#39;s yours." If it was just a dent that could be PDR&#39;d I&#39;d let it go, but since it&#39;s a pretty noticable dent, and it took the paint off down to the metal, I&#39;m going to go ahead and get an estimate. I realize I haven&#39;t seen any cash out of the guy, but turns out I know where he lives&#33; heh.
