I would make those "possibly" headers a "definite" - you oughta see low 13's I would think.

if i do it wont be any expensive headers, it will probably be like summit brand headers, i dont really have the money to spend on them for it... think that would make much of a difference

the kid wit my motor before me, 2000 camaro, did like 12.3, but he also ran a magic stick 3 cam wit a 3900 stall, so i figure my truck probably weighs a good 700lbs more than his car so thats .7 on to my 1/4 time right there

If money were an issue, I would try to pick up a used set of Pacesetters or other LT's off here or more likely off PT.net

Most of the cheapies are exactly that - cheapies. Really thin walled pipe that might not last all that long. They you might wind up replacing them again in a couple of years.

Make sure you have someone tune your motor after you put your mods on. That will make everything work together. I am sure low 13's are in your future, but you definitely need headers, CAI, and maybe a set of ASP pulleys. A throttle body would be nice, but not extremely necessary for low 13's...

ya, i have someone tuning my truck with HP Tuners, he might even be a member on here (Quik). as far as the TB, CAI, injectors etc. that stuff will all come, just a matter of time... id actually like to come across the single ram air hood wit the scoop on fbody ss's and have like a ram air setup... i dont care for the twin scoop hoods to much, dont get me wrong they look good but on someone elses truck lol

You should get some pretty good times after a stall and all those goodies. Keep us updated on the progress. When does the 5.7 go in?

get pacesetters, a cai and cutout and go for 12's. your selling yourself short with the 13.3 business. heres why:

me

extended cab 5.7 ls1, tb stall, 3.73 gears, g80, et streets, and all the little boltons.------STOCK CAM AND HEADS!= 13.27

i gained an entire .01 in the 60' going from the TB stall to the 3200 fuddle.

old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

i totally agree, low 13's should be ur goal, even high 12's. if u dont hit that with that setup get a better tune cuz something is wrong.
