Hey everyone! I've been reading this forum a while and there is tons of great info so I figured what the hell and signed up. I have been working on my Project Truck that is a ground up resto of my 83 silverado. I'm still in the early stages really since all that is done is frame, suspension, and brakes. Originally I planned on a mild SBC rebuild, but I really love the idea of FI and I already liked LSx motors. My plans are for a 5.3, maybe a 6.0 with mild mods and a 4L65E. The interior is going to be completely custom with a MDF/Fiberglass door panels & dash with 2002 Chevy AC box & controls (bought). Split bench seats from 1999 silverado (bought). This is a project with my brother and me. So far we have finished a strip down of the frame and removed several unneeded frame mounts and various things. Relocated fuel tank and replaced with a 16 gallon fuel cell in the rear with custom mounts to the frame. Stainless steel brake lines and braided stainless end links. Energy suspension kit for mounts. Lowering Spindles and completely rebuilt front end with all Moog, now w/ a sway bar! woohoo! Frame has been coated with rust encapsulator and glossy extreme black chassis paint all from Eastwood Co. Its rolling and now we are working on the body and getting parts. I plan on getting the motor and tranny sometime close to body work finish. It hasn't been a quick buildup since this is only funded by extra money. I've seen a lot of great stuff coming from the other 73-87 guys on here. Not too many of them on here with these trucks, but i'm sure there'll be more! Thanks everybody!
