I was looking forward to picking up a G8 next year... But I guess that may not happen.

I'll caution people not to read the comments... There's so many leftist pig dogs that hate cars out there.

i dont see why lutz is doing this unless its to prove a point to these people. even then its basically him daring them to call his bluff and then what? what if they do call his bluff? gm sinks further. its a huge risk and hes got balls but damn this sucks. g8 should be fine since its already on the table, does anyone know for sure whats in and whats out?
I say we bring GEO back and make shitty cars all day long so that the chevy, pontiac, gmc, and cadillac brands dont have to suffer. if they could convince the govt that saturn, and geo could be all about economy and mass production and the rest be smaller brands but RWD and worse fuel economy thatd be ideal. the govt is stupid anyways trying to "save the earth" when in reality the earths atmosphere is always changing and global warming is more of an excuse to "stand for something". sad sad day when u start telling people they cant make cars a certain way because its hurting the environment. before u know it lawn mowers will be outlawed back to the good ole "push mower". rant off for now even tho i have more to bitch about later haha.

Lutz is a smart dude, but he has a lot of people "helping" him make these decisions. GM already has a bunch (9?) vehicles that get 30 or better HWY mpg. The base Vette w/ 6 spd gets close to 28 mpg HWY. GM won't stop the Vette RWD. They should keep the RWD platforms going--because they are crucial here in the States. Australia has higher gas prices than us, and they still keep selling V-8 RWD platforms over there. That shows that the public will pay higher gas prices in order to keep their hot rod V-8 RWD vehicles. I am sure GM can abide by the smog regulations for their V-8 RWD vehicles, but that would drive up prices...look at what happened to the 07 diesel regulations... New parameters were set, truck makers modified the emission systems to meet the demands, and the new diesels are doing just fine. Sure, it costs a little bit more for a diesel engine, but they are still selling good...

All you have to do to get things like that started is to spread a little propaganda. Surveys show that the best looking topless dancers prefer high horsepower vehicles over the sub-compacts. If they no longer have their high HP vehicles to drive to and from work they will take office jobs and we will have a shortage of hotties at the topless bars. Help promote high HP vehicles.
