Im looking for a 2-3" lift for my 90 2500 that doesnt require cranking the t-bars. I have found a rough country lift that includes front upper control arms, diff drop bracket, torsion bars, brake lines bushings shocks and add-a-leafs. It says nothing about cranking the t-bars is this kit worth buying? I want to stick with my 265 tires but I want it to sit just a bit higher and I want my smooth ride.

easiest and least expensive is a body lift.

Sure body lifts are cheap and easy I just dont really like them and my truck is 17 years old so I dont really want to mess with the body mounts. I know the front end will be fine to take apart because I just had a bunch of work done to it. I have my T-bars cranked right now and I hate the ride, every bump I hit feels and sounds like there just isnt any suspension at all I want to get rid of that.

As for lift manufacturers, I prefer Rancho. They've been in business longer than most of the other companies engineers have been alive. They make some nice kits and I've always had great success with them. I wish I could say the same for Fabtech.

Basically what I want to know is if I put this lift in and uncrank my torsion bars will my ride quality improve and will it make any noticable difference in the ride height?

I'm sure you could call Rancho or any of the lift kit builders and they could answer you better than I can. I do know that the closer that you can keep the lower a-arms to stock setting, the better it will ride. My 95 4wd rode like a buckboard with the torsion arms maxed out. I lowered the tension on the bolts and it rode almost like a caddilac. Put a lift kit on the truck that lowers the mounting point for the lower a-arms and you can keep the factory settings and ride quality. Any time that you lift the vehicle you reduce your braking ability due to the higher center of gravity.
