Hi everyone...

I have a '73 Toyota Land Cruiser, or to be more accurate, what's left of one.. Currently has a worn-out propane powered 305 that's on its way out.

I'm picking up a '04 Tahoe 5300 on Friday, complete with the harness, PCM, accessories, throttle pedal/box, starter, etc, etc... Got it for $800, 55k miles.

I would have preferred a cable-throttle, but I have read here that the conversion isn't that expensive, so I figured I'd deal.

I'm running a 700R4 tranny behind it, so I need the cable throttle to also pull the TV cable from the 700R, since it's so vital...

(I did have a fleeting thought of attaching the TV directly to the actual throttle pedal, I'm wondering how well that might work...)

Getting the harness and PCM flashed by Jim's Performance in MD (Several friends have used him before with GREAT results)

Probably e posting almost exclusively in the conversion area, and probably FS a little too.

GREAT board, I've learned a ton by searching before my account was approved!

Part of the swap is also going to a 4-link suspension with coil-over shocks, hydraulic 4-wheel steering, 42" tires, and 2.5 ton military axles.. I'm hoping to be on the trail by July..

    Here's my junk:

The tow slut - 330rwhp/750rwtq Cummins Dodge.. 270,000+ miles

Looking for an ignition coil for my 5.3.. Got one?

I can tell you right off the bat - you're going to have some pretty intense performance issues.

With that big white thing I mean!

Had to get a Dodge stab in, sorry.

Just kidding man, welcome to the site. Lot's of good guys on here and lots of knowledge. I've got a buddy that goes crawlin. He's got a Jeep with a 350 in it. Goes all over the place - Moab, AZ, NM, CA...

    Anyway, welcome!

Welcome Be sure you read the conversion section. There's a lot of good info in there if only for the part numbers. If you figure something out that wasn't listed, feel free to add it to the site! When you find a linkage for the 700r4 cable, be sure to post where you get it from

I've been reading the HECK out of that section actually..

The linkage for the 700R is what's going to be my achille's heel, I'll probably have to fabricate something.. I guess the cable-pull throttle body will make it alot easier, assuming I can't make the cable work on the throttle pedal. (I'm thinking engine/exhaust interference may be an issue)

And I don't drive a Dodge.. I drive a Cummins with the crate it came packaged in! I'm a Chevy guy at heart, but nothing in my price range would make the power I wanted and live as long.

Besides, there's another little toy in the garage should I need to scratch my itch for performance....
