Unhappy

Street, not the track.

I don't think Caltracs or other traction bars make any difference, do they? I have a G80 & 3.73's, so most of the time the power is to the pavement times 2. I also have Belltech 3" drop leafs, which seems to let the truck transfer & squat well (at least people who have seen it at the track tell me that). I am also using Edelbrock IAS shocks in the rear

I also am running 305/50 Kumhos in the rear, which is probably the widest I can run without modifications.

So, traction gurus, what is the cure? Yes I am only 2wd, and no I can't go AWD or 4WD.
Thanks,
S.C.

If you're spinning on the street it's probably because the tires have dirt and rock stuck to the tread. Turn the tires over a couple times to clean them up before takeoff. Traction bars stop wheel hop and axle wrap-up. If you're not hopping they are a waste of money, unless you are getting severe spring wrap-up. If you have a camera you can mount under the bed to video the pumpkin with that would be great. A laptop with a USB camera can be used to video the twist of the rear axle. It will show if your pinion angle changes too drastically during acceleration or launch. About all you can do for street traction is add weight to the rear of the truck, take if off the front. Move the battery to behind the rollpan. Remove the factory tank and put a fuel cell back behind the rear axle, either in or under the bed.

20 punch, 25 punch, 30 punch, 35 punch all end in a smoke show. 36 punch is the bottom of the powerband and feels like someone threw out a boat anchor. At least ntil I get a stall.

Red, I think relocating the fuel cell is a little more drastic than I want. Battery relocation is feasible though.

Chaining the spare tire up in the back of the truck along with some added weight. i.e. cylinder blocks. If you dont mind the bed being scratched up. Thats probably the ghetto way but oh well.

You could just take the charger off and send it up here to me, viola!, no more traction issues.
