mobile 1 in everthing i drive, do it my self .every 3000#! oil is the lifeblood of your engine , change it often!( i might be a little anal bout that)
I have pulled apart a few engines no one took care of. When there is so much build up of oil it will not let you remove the push rods something is wrong. You should not have to use pliers to pull them out. The lifters would not even slide out. You could not even see them. The valley was like a dryed up tar pit.

Funny you should say that I jsut recently had a buddy bring one of those kind of engines over to the shop it was a 5.3 and oil sludge was built up all the way past the first coil of the springs.

That is funny. Quaker state. Sorry just not my first choice. But I will not knock a guy if it has been good for them.

i agree, my dad rebuilt engines back in the day and said quaker state was really quaker sludge, he said the sludge build up on the internals was terrible from q-state, im sure its a lot better now, i dont take any chances ,i run mobile 1 , if its good enough for the corvette from the factory, its good e nuff for me.

The real fun part was the wife going off on the husband. She did not hold back either. Believe me he got his. In the pocket book and in the bed room. Ouch. She was mad and did not care who heard what.

I use either Amsoil or Mobil1 and change it every 3000miles sometimes less!May be a waste to some but it is not for me and I will continue! It has had Mobil1 or Amsoil its whole life and runs stronger than the day it was bought off the lot brand new!Plus it does not get driven awhole lot,it will sit for a week alot of times, not really a daily driver all the time!

I like the Castrol GTX. Every engine I've ever torn into that I ran the Castrol in was just as clean as new and had no wear on it's components.
