I found a 5.3 and tranny today for $1600. Didnt say how many miles were on it though. Thanks for all of yalls input. I greatly do appreciate it. On the stock wiring harness, what wires will wire to the tach and speedo? All of this is new to me. The guy at S&P told me I had to leave my stock 94 pcm in, in order for the tach & speedo would work. Anyone else heard of this?

O...btw, I decided on using shortie headers. Which ones should I get?

Dont waist money on the shortie headers they dont flow much better than the stock manifolds

Well then. I guess I will be keeping my stock manifolds.. lol.. I am on a very tight budget, so for now the headers can wait. I got $3500 to get a engine and tranny and get it in the truck and running. Is it do-able?

I've asked this before, but does anyone else think that I can get this swap done and running in four days? Just FYI.. I'm an all nighter guy, meaning I will literally work on this truck from sun down to sun up. I work weekend midnights anyways at Delta, so staying up all night isn't a problem for me.

It can be done for under your budget and in the time frameyour wanting as long as you dont buy to many extras and make sure you have everything nec. to do the swao when you start. Current perfomance can do the wiring on your truck were everything is still functional and works like its factory

Definately want a nbs PCM to match ur engine the 94 model isn't tune-able like these new guys.

Your budget should leave plenty of breathing room as long as you don't go dropping 1500 on LT's.

The 5.3 80e will be a great combo for your truck as it will be very reliable, but beware the first gear in the 80e is very long spend the money on some gears 4.10's are a good option considering your tire size. That will help you move out at a much improved rate also get some kind of locker/limited slip when you do the gear swap.

This is also very important Find a good tuner who can get you running right.
