    Cam swap gaskets?

    With some of my graduation money I will be purchasing the cam kit in my sig. I was wondering if their is a gasket kit I can buy and if not which ones will I need to purchase?
    Also if anybody wants a vacation to Fl. you can come help dad and I install the cam Were only 2 hrs from disney and all the other theme parks.

    The only gaskets or anything you should need, is a new crank seal and water pump gaskets, everything else is reusable or doesn't need replacement. And if you take the oil pump off, save yourself the trouble and hassle, and replace the pickup tube o-ring if you take the pump off. Would have saved me 3 months of problems.

    Andy is right--to a point. Depending on the mileage and wear of your gaskets--ALL the gaskets should be reusable.

    I have hear some people need a front cover gasket or a crank seal. How many miles on it now?

    I would personally not reuse original orange water pump gaskets. If you have a newer pump or truck with the black ones then maybe.

    35k miles on an 06--just reuse them. (verified upon visual inspection of course)

    And be careful removing them so you don't crack or tear them.

    or you can go to thunder racing and they got the hole deal in a packaged for a cam swap.

    I agree. Yours is new enough to have been built with the black gaskets instead of the crappy orange ones. 35000 miles isn't much. I have replaced 5-7 sets in the last two weeks so look them over well. the rubber might try to stick to the block so don't rip the rubber loose from the metal part of the gasket like mentioned above.

    If reusing a bonded gasket I like to smear a very thin skin of silicone over it before installation for insurance.

    you could get lucky like me and only need water pump gaskets (on an 03 with 110,000 miles) Im still trying comp i WILL talk to them monday and get this worked out, all else fails we will change price and you can get new springs from somewhere
