DUDE trade it for an LS1 why spend all that money to do something that for just a few dollars more you can do.
Not to mention is your house paid for yet?
I wasted sooooooo much money when I was younger when I should have bought a house and had that joker paid for. My current house has appreicited enough to buy a new vette in just 4 years. But I am gonna put the money on a bigger house and then in 4 years.. . . .. . .. .
Yet I keep hearing Warhawk 427 750 rear wheel awd horsepower. and duramax 2500 HD and Yukon Denali and 2009 Camaro.
Save a little now so you can have more later.

The only reason I am saying this is to remind myself to hold out a little longer....
But then again put a 200 shot of juice on the camaro and you won't need a V8 at least for the first 1/8th mile.
99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.

The LQ4s have truck accessories on them, they wont fit in your camaro. Just find a drop out LS1 with all the shit to go with it. Its still alot of work when you could put 3K with the price of your car and have an LS1 but do what you feel you need to. I sure as hell didnt listen to everyone while doing my stuff lol.

i agree go ls1, with an fbody its diff than a truck and the weight reduction will also help with the aluminum block. overall id say trade the car. u think ur saving $ but ur not once u start getting every little thing needed trust me it was the same way on my v6 to v8 swap. looking back i prob could have gotten a 4.8 and done the swap for cheaper than i did the 4.3 to 6.0 swap. i dont regret it completely but looking back patience was important. everything on my truck is bargained!

Even though you have these illusions of grandeur doing a bigger motor swap into the Camaro, go with the LS1. There are plenty of wrecked LS1 Camaros out there that will be perfect donor vehicles. Once you have the LS1 motor purchased, then you can build it the way you want it. Listen to the older guys who have already done this...
