I didn't know you needed the ls temp sensor I thought that was only if you were running e fans.

Thanks Gagliano7 for the info, I didn't know that the original sensor was needed for the computer to work correctly. I'll leave the 5.3 sensor in the drivers side head and run my obs sensor or a mechanical water temp guage off the rear of the pass head. Live and learn!
u can bye this temp sensor from Orelly's part # 12551708

its a three wire sensor two for the computer and one for the gauge i have one in my truck just remove old and install
you can get it from a junk yard off the overflow or any of the three wire with the purple seal
the ones side by side go to pcm other one goes to gauge
well i have the single wire one from the old engine which im going to put on rear of the passenger side head then the 5.3 sensor will go in the front of the driver side head. the 5.3 is a 2wire plug.

Check out this temp sensor setup http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-LS2-LS6-...09477265333595 I think i am going to change to this because the location of the adapter and old temp sensor in the back of the passenger side head is the way of my spark plug wire and very close to the shoenfeld headers. Also makes changing that back spark plug a real pain.
