    4l80e transmission shift linkage

Ran into another problem. My stock transmission shift linkage from my 4l60e will not work with the 4l80e that i have in there now. What are some options? I know some guys fab up there own stuff but I do not have a welder handy.

Doing some research on other sites, it looks like other guys with the similar setup I have use a 4l80e shift linkage from a similar year truck. Can anyone confirm that?

I used the 60e shift linkage on my 80e conversion in my 93 truck without issue. You could get the shift linkage, internal to the trans, from an earlier year trans if they're shorter like the difference between the early 60e vs the newer ones that have the PRNDL switch on the selector shaft.
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709

Since my old 4l60e didnt have the PRND switch, do I really need that on the 4l80e? Im thinking if I can keep that off, I might beable to make something work. Or maybe it got tweeked when I removed it

Can you give me a few more details about your truck. I looked it up at summit and it looked wayyyyy different than my setup. My setup uses 2 rods : 1 going down the frame rail, and then connects to another one that runs 90 degrees to the tranny.

with this kit you eliminate the 90 degree linkage ,that where all the binding takes place , i'll try to post some pics this after noon

That would be great! I did get mine solved somewhat by cutting it shorter and welding it, it shifts perfect from park to R N and OD, but D 2 and 1 are a bit sticky
