I know i know.. My justification at the time was "it will be fast enough stock"[/QUOTE]
Nothing is fast enough stock.. It only feels fast when u first get it.. that gets old then you have to mod it, then it just gets slower to you til you just have to mod somemore lol
I'd get some slicks, clamp the springs, stock 17's up front. Keep the rest mostly stock and go put some cash in your pocket bracket racing. Just keep it reliable and consistent.

Clamping the front of the leaf springs, squeezes them all together and stiffens them up in the front. It does help wheel hop a fair bit. Get two pieces of 1/4" thick plate, cut it 1"x (1" longer than the leaf springs are wide, 4" maybe?) drill a couple 1/2" holes in each end for bolts and then bolt them to the springs (not the helper spring). U-bolts would work too if you could find some the right size. I'm horrible at describing things but if you google pictures of them they're the most simple thing in the world.
