gears are your friend eiher way you look at it you'll need them, BUT like you mentioned you have to look at the weight of your truck, if your stall is that loose all BS a side that cam just might work for you.. dont be scared of rpm, 6000-65-67 would be a great pull in that truck..by the way a good dyno will tell the tale on whats needed !
