Thread: Dextron III flush, then add Dex VI?

    yeah, once its black its hard to get it red again unless you take it to a company that has a true transmission flush machine, they pump gallons of stuff through there to get it clean again. They also should drop the pan and clean the sediment off the bottom of the pan, too.

    To flush properly the front pump has to be turned by the torque converter. Can be done on transmission dyno or in the vehicle only.

    I've seen guys use a electronic fuel pump to flush fluid through the trans. I would drop pan, change the filter, put a new converter in it, install your shift kit, and throw it in the truck.

    Check your shift kit, I know some of the ones for older th350's/700r4's recommend type-F after the kit is installed. If not, throw regular dex3 in it and call it a day. OR run something like royal purple (their oil is garbage, I really like their trans fluid)
    blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum
