    yea im gonna do the 6L90e afterall.i already got it so i have no choice.i got lucky it came with a stock converter for now.i just gotta go to vara and exchange the 80e parts for 6l90 like flywheel etc...ill get it all bolted up ...then leave it with you guys...for the tuning and electrical part..i hate electrical..thanks

    i think you got lucky on that one the 6L90e is a awesome tranny. where you get the tranny?

    with these gears ima spin all through 4th maybe 5th lol

    i got it from salvage yard in dallas

    A buddy of mine had a 6speed with a cammed 6.2 and that bish pulled like a mofo. And it was still on a very conserative tune! Oh he had 3.73's.

    well i got a 09' Sierra Denali and its stock but it wraps 1st gear fast thats with 3.42s...i can only imagine WITH 4.56S LOL. we shall wait and see

    How much did that 6l90 run you? That trans will be better on gas and has better gear ratios throughout than the 4l80. Please do a right up on this with plenty of pics. I am considering doing one of these swaps but Iv'e never seen it done before. When do you get started?

    i will get pics of crossmember and full detail/part numbers etc ...Allen and crew will do the finishing touches and tuning on her though.i get started tomorrow..i got the trans for 1,400 shipped 18kmiles out of 08'2500hd

    Stands to reason. With 4.88 gears and running the 1/8th mile a lesser driveshaft will more likely survive longer than if it were taken to a 1/4 mile track and turned higher RPM. I've always wanted to put a high speed camera under a truck with a 4' or longer driveshaft running large number gears and pushing real power. I bet that driveshaft grows 6" larger in diameter by the time they hit the end of the quarter.

    Probably looks a lot like a jump rope.
