Thread: steam vent routing.

    On my 5.3 swap I drilled and tapped the thermostat housing for a fitting and hooked it up there. You could also drill and tap the top of the water pump and plumb it there. That's one way a lot of people do it. Makes for a real short hose.

    huh? but i thought the idea of the steam vent was to relieve the coolant system air pressure? what i cant figure out is if there is a constant flow of coolant through the steam pipe or not?

    I'm not sure about constant flow, but if you pull it off and rev the engine water comes rushing out pretty good.

    now were gettin somewhere. i have a feeling if i tee'd into my coolant bottle i would just be dumping water out the over flow tube. or do you think the radiator would suck it in fast enough.

    Tee'ing into the coolant bottle would most likely be a bad idea.
