2010 5.3L/6spd CC 2wd - Nelson Performance Improvement 1/4 mile

you went with pacesetters? im looking forward to your results, it gives me a general idea on where ill be. id be happy with a 14.9 with my truck and figuring it did 15.8 stock im sure with my air intake setup and muffler addition along with tune ill get it.

Any improvement is good with me, some where like high 14s to low 15s would be great.

With DA correction my truck is running like 15.2s or so with the tune.

I'm really not building a 1/4 mile racer though, really just building a street truck so I haven't really pushed the envelope in the 1/4 mile, like shifting or stalling...I have just been pulling up to the line, waiting for the green and stomping the go pedal so all the runs will be similar and I can see what improvement there is.

Still haven't gotten the chance to run the truck is temps below 85 degrees and all but 2 runs have been 95+ degrees.

Eventually I will get this big pig in the low 13s...one small step at a time.

yea i have no intention of mine being a track queen. I ran mine for fun and modding it for a few extra. if yours is 15.6 now it should pick up some with similar weather.

Right on about the DA times no being the gospel, just food for thought.

I'm sure I could squeek a few more tenths out of it by launching it or shifting the gears or maybe even shedding some of the extra weight its packing with the 20s and huge 305/50s in the rear, bed lid, bed rug, lighter driver, rear sway bar, etc.

Doing some of that and running it in 50-60 degree weather would definitely move the times down a good bit. But that would defeat the purpose because I won't be changing any of that for the street.

its a crew cab if youre going to run it, run it as it sits on the street. a rcsb is made for racing others are just to haul ppl there . as for shifting it, having a tune rids the use of shifting it. i noticed the pcm learned the paddle shifting on the 2nd pass so thats a washout there.

Yeah the headers and cut out got me to the finish line 6 tenths quicker and 4 mph faster.

I'm going to try and get back in the next few weeks, before NP installs the Tru Trac and 4.11s to try and dip into the 14s.

EDIT: Also I'm going to try and get my truck weighed this week just so I know where I stand in regards to all my race buddies RCSBs and ECSBs.

Here is the time slip, I was car 60 and BB was a buddy of mine, he spun at the line and I was right on his RCSBs rear fender the whole race, fun times!
