if im not mistaken some year models came with the ls2 chain? i just did my cam swap and left the chain and oil pump alone. the chain was still tight and looked exactly like the ls2 chain we had on hand.

probably an excellent idea! are you keeping your current stall converter or are you changing it?

the swap is still on going actually
    nightmare after nightmare..
we finally made progress.. cam is in.. heads are on..
unknown fact.. 2007 or newer TRUCK 243 heads are NOT LS6 heads.. not really but kinda
everything is the same, except the coolant crossover tube.
on these heads the front passages were plugged off.. we had to knock it out to get the tube in the proper place.. thought we had done some really really wrong things.
the intake is goin on next.. after a small break

Seriously? Have some pics of what is different? I have the 799 heads on my 2007 and they are exactly the same style as my Patriot Performance heads. I put the coolant crossover hose from my 2007 heads on my PP heads when I installed the 408.
