If you have management experience you may try a parts store if any are hiring. It isn't great pay but it is really easy and predictable. I started 2 years ago in high school at $8 and hour and now make $11 doing the exact same thing but with a manager title.

X2 in this economy getting your foot in the door is the hardest thing right now. We hire summer temps then offer full time to the best workers at the end of summer. Nothing in OK though.

Dude, sorry to hear about that. Go down to the unemployment office, online or via telephone and get registered to get your benefits. Always do that first. Get you a resume put together ASAP so you can start passing it around. Get some generic business cards made up with your contact information on it. Don't put a company name, just your's, your email, location, what your current job is or what you're looking for, phone numbers and all that. Vistaprint.com will do 250 for free and under $10 shipping. Pass these out to friends and people you meet and tell them what you're looking for and ask if they have any ideas on where to find work doing what you're doing. I'm going through all this right now. Networking pays off.
