    6.2 Liter Regular cab/Regular bed??

    Hey guys,

    I'm toying with the idea of a new truck now and the 403 HP 6.2 really caught my eye. I would like a regular cab with regular bed body style, but the Chevy dealer told me I cannot get that combination with the new 403 HP 6.2. What's up with that?? Chevy has the potential to make a quicker than Lightning out of the box sport truck with all the parts available from the standard parts bin and doesn't make it available? This defies all logic. Maybe this has been discussed before.....sorry to vent my frustrations if it has. I hate to consider a Toyota, but they don't restrict their 385 HP v8 to just their big trucks.

    The L92 swap can be done easily. Just buy a truck that you want with a V8 (so the wiring harness is there) and then swap in your 6.2L. Swapping motors and reprogramming the PCM is actually pretty easy. DO IT! If you have any other questions, we're here to help!

    I had the same problem and just built my own with a ly6.0

    im going to go with a l92,4l80e combo. First plans were a forged 5.7 but then i came across a deal i couldnt pass up plus i mean 403 hp base, the options kinda fell one sided. lol

    BlueL92 has a 6.2L swap in his regcab, it's a 2006 model, regcab, shortbox.
    The truck is very quick for a stock engine.
    All stock engine, even manifolds, it's already a high 12sec truck.
    (it's getting a little motivation for the meet as well)

    GM doesn't want a truck to be as fast as the Corvette or faster than their new baby, the Camaro. They learned their lesson back in the GN, Typhoon/Syclone days.

    I hear what you're sayin'. Having a hard time staying loyal to a company with such lame business practices. The swap isn't out of the question, but that would definitely void the warranty and be more trouble than I'm willing to go to for something that's going to be a driver. I've been hotrodding for years, and just wanted a kick-a$$ turn key truck (and not a Mustang or Camaro) without having to do a swap. Sorry......I know I'm just preaching to the choir

    I would almost bet money that if you bought a 2010 truck, swapped in a 2010 6.2L the techs would never know, lol!

    Just be sure to make it as stock as possible and connect everything!

    Talk to you GM service guy too, sometimes they are fine about some mods, just don't mention the engine lol.

    I like the 6.2L as well, I'd like to get one of those CC 6.2L's.

    I would do a 5.3L RCSB with the 6 speed auto. With bolt ons, you should be able to be in the low 13s, maybe even high 12s. The NNBS 5.3Ls have flat top pistons, 9.9 CR, 243 heads, etc. A great little platform to build from.
