Yeah--its awesome our trucks even with these mods can get these mpgs.

That 4.7L motor Dodge has is a POS...well, until 08 when they reworked it to get 310 hp. I hated it from day 1. They should have stuck with the 318 and updated it.

    +1.

My '93 Accord 2 dr. gets about 26 in the city and 32 on the hwy.

Plus, I can fill it up with $22 on 87 octane.

Truck HATES going over 55 as far as wind resistance goes (but i've still had it going about 140 lol)
I'm going to have to say 27 MPG is hard to believe. The best I've gotten HWY is 20.3 mpg. That was a 200 mile stretch with 2 stop lights and two on ramps. Speed limits anywhere from 55-75 and me following them.

Software I have for truck monitors gas mileage. Even with the lift, at 45, i get about 22 cruising.

75 is pretty fast for 'good mileage'...current setup I don't see past 12 at 75 unless I'm bumper to bumper with a semi. I don't see past 17 at 55.

mods include intake, dumped exhaust, 80mm tb, electric fans, full synthetic fluids, ud pulley, had 3.42 gears and stock tires.

Happened several times on trip from home to school when truck was a stock height. Normally at 1-2am when I wasn't in a hurry and just cruising for a couple hours. I also use lucas fuel treatment and 89 or better fuel. (not sure how much the lucas really helps, but SEEMS to raise overall mpg by about 1.5)
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

Stock 5.3L 4x4 '00 ECSB I would usually get 15-19 during the summer and 13-16 during the winter in WI. Now that my catalytic converters are throwing a code I'm getting 13-15 here in AZ. My entire highway trip from WI to AZ I was only getting 14-15 max, that was when my SES light came on. My parents claim on the drive up from AZ they got over 20 MPG but I'm sure they never went over 65 MPH.

Thats probably the smartest comment you've ever made, even though when the Magnum 318 was introduced in '92 it was beyond it's time and still was current at it's end.

Your software was most likely off which is normal when you start modding an engine.

The only way to measure fuel economy is manually log the mileage and amount of fuel consumed. Sorry, but you didn't get 27 mpg unless it was for only a couple miles downhill.
