The majority of the stuff you study will not have good reasoning or logic behind it.

okay guys: what do you think about this?
Heraclitus is famous for the remark attributed to him, “You cannot step in the same river twice.” The remark raises the important philosophical problem of identity or “sameness over change”: Can today’s river and yesterday’s river be the same, since not a single drop of water in yesterday’s river is in today’s river?

Did the river's name change? Did the location in which you stepped change? Did the dirt on which you walked change? Did you change after you walked into the river? How do you know the water didn't evaporate and fall as rain upstream?

depends the way you look at it.
its the same river of course, its location and its setting but its the water that changes.. its a river which flows down.. so you will never step in the same water twice!

what do you say if i say you are not the same person as yesterday??? problem of personal identity!!!!
The atoms in George Bush Senior are not the same atoms as in George Bush Junior, and so we have two different people there—but the atoms in George Bush Senior in 2005 likewise are not the same atoms as in George Bush Senior in 1959. So why do we count this as one person and not as two?

same sh!t different day?? well things do happen differently everyday DEvin!!! :p

See? Two PERFECT examples of how EFFING USELESS that class is. Who would wanna go in there and have their mind corrupted by that jibberish? And if your mind is not able to be corrupted and you argue--is it REALLY worth your time to waste a breath on morons like that???

No offense to you Meli for taking that class. I am not making fun of you--honest.
