haha. Oklahoma has more scenery at least. I don't really feel stuck here though. I have a great job which I love. I have some good family and I enjoy all of my friends. I just hate a lot of the closed-mindedness and hideous scenery in Wichita Falls. There is nothing beautiful about this place. The closest beach is 12 hrs away and the closest "mountains" are in Lawton, OK. Otherwise its plains and mesquites. My job is what is what made me want to stay. If I get let go or the company gets sold(which I don't see either happening) then it's away from the falls I go. In other words, I more than likely wont be going anywhere.

I agree on getting the EFF out of there--but Cali? California is surrounded by tree huggin, Left Winged IDIOTS. The cost of living is ridiculous, the traffic can LMB, and government would drive me to kill.

If you want a change of pace without being too far to go back and visit friends/family, why not hoof it down here to the DF-Dub? 40 billion times better than the WF in terms of stuff to do, availability of jobs, opportunity, etc. Don't know one person who lived in WF that didn't like it when they moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

I am from Cali and I am far from that stereo type, although there are lots of people like that. I have lived in socal and norcal and I personally loved norcal vs socal. I have stayed in Riverside, but I was a kid. From what I remember, it was a great place to live. When it comes to San Diego, I wouldn't move farther east than La Mesa. El Cajon seems to have turned out to be a dope area. The schools suck in San Diego. If you have kids, keep that in mind.

Cali is fun to visit but I couldnt live there. You have to get approval from the government to do just about anything out there. I think there are a lot more ''closed minded'' people out in Cali than there are in Texas. But thats just me.

We are still on the fence about having children. I like dfw but I think I would like to get away from Texas all together. I am one of those left-wing types and I am also a bit arrogant so I don't feel that will be a problem. There is still a lot of thinking and reseaching to be done. It's going to be a year at the least before we are going to get serious about the thought of moving away anyway. I just wanted to get some input on current residents and ex-residents and why they moved. So far the problems people have had that moved won't be much of a problem for me, except traffic, but traffic doesn't bother me as much as <40* weather and 30mph+ winds. There is closed-minded morons no matter where you go, but it seems where I am there is a lot more of it. My only hang up really is my career. I have a great job and just got promoted, that's about the only thing I want to hang around for.

i have lived in socal all my life and i will never move out or live anywhere else. people talk about people are arrogant and jerks but that is everywhere no matter where you go. ive been to texas,Georgia, dc i can say that about all those places. yes there is some lame laws and it is more expensive to live but well worth the money.

Right on. Like I said before, this is the preamptive developmental stage of are we going to go. Ft worth would be alright, and I could probably keep my job. But then I would be commuting 3 hrs a day back and forth to work and still not have the beach at my front door and the mtns at my back. I would also still have those 30* winters and such. Plus, some of the comparable houses in ft worth are not too far from the homes in Cali. I've got a lot of thinking and discussing to do....... What I really want to know is how the weather is, I hear it is nice all year round and you can get by with a hoodie and jeans.
