    All you Californians.........

The fiance is starting to get into the idea of moving to southern California. I am really liking the idea since I have always wanted to be by the beach, mountains, and nice weather year round. Any suggestions on where has the best deals on houses and best job opportunities. I think my little brother could possibly move out with me and we could open up a custom paint and body/stereo/upholstery/detail shop. With as picky as we both are I think we could do really good with that. I guess what I am asking is what to beware of and what to look for out there. I am going CRAZY in this area. I need to get away to a place where everyone is open-minded, not just a few. Of course I would miss some family and all of my friends but everyone needs a vacation right? Let me know how well you so-calians like life out that way.

Temecula, orange county, maybe irvine. Stay away from vista, oceanside and san marcos, too expensive and too many jarheads. There are some decent places outside san diego but dont live in the city limits.

How do you suppose to pay the extreme expense of living down there vs what you're paying to live in TX? You're moving to a location that is 4 times more expensive to live in.

I lived there and I will stay here in Texas. The people suck for the most part, (IMO) sorry. I love my texas.

So far it's just an idea in the making, but if I see something I really want, I go and get it. I'm going to visit and do a ton of researching before leaving the excellent job I currently have and moving thousands of miles from my family and close friends. I just really hate the weather, a lot of the people, and scenery of the town I live in. I love all of my friends, family, and the people I work with here. I just want more, I want to be able to go to the beach or mountains without having to drive 12 hours to either. Cali is the place where I have everything I enjoy at my finger tips. I'm not worried about money or cost of living because I know there is a lot more money to be made. Plus, I won't be making any kind of move until my truck is paid off and Ash has a job. We just both really dislike Wichita Falls. Apart from my friends, family, and job there is nothing I will miss about Texas. I have been looking at homes in Riverside area and they are not too far from comparable homes here as far as price, just depends on neighborhood I guess. I just wanted to get opinions from people who actually live there about how the day to day life goes.

Wichita Falls is more like Oklahoma than Texas though. Sorry you feel stuck there but I understand.

I dont like the ppl over there much. Everyone is rude and arrogant(at least where i was). it took me 4 hours to travel 75 miles, almost missed my flight. Lots of people i knew had to live 60 miles from base because homes were too expensive. Only good thing was i could go fishing everyday on the shore if i wanted too. But there are places here in texas that can provide that for me
